Non-standard shipments

A non-standard shipment is any shipment that does not fit the conditions of a standard box (i.e., 40 × 50 × 60 cm, max. 35 kg) or has specific requirements for handling, packaging, or transport.

The following items are considered non-standard shipments:

  • exceeds 40 × 50 × 60 cm
  • has an irregular shape that makes it impossible to stack among other shipments
  • has significantly protruding parts (handles, legs, fittings…)
  • includes items like: cabinets, chests of drawers, tables, cribs, mattresses, large paintings, mirrors, sports equipment (skis, bicycles, fitness machines)

Parcels not packed in a box are automatically classified as non-standard because they are harder to stack and more prone to damage:

  • bags, suitcases, backpacks, plastic sacks, loosely packed items

Any package that weighs more than 35 kg or is too heavy for one person to lift safely is automatically classified as non-standard shipment (wardrobes, furniture, etc.).

Items with specific dimensions, high weight, and sensitivity to damage:

  • washing machine, dryer, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher

Items with irregular shapes or fragile contents:

These items have sharp edges, awkward shapes, cannot be stacked, or require extra space and careful handling:

  • satellite dishes, musical instruments, lamps, chandeliers, large plastic boxes, flower pots, ceramics, glass

Combined parcels:

If a customer combines two or more parcels into one (most commonly with tape or foil), it automatically becomes a non-standard shipment due to the risk of coming apart or damage.

Why do we need a category for non-standard shipments?

Because these shipments take up more space, require more careful stacking, often need two people for handling, and sometimes prevent the efficient stacking of other parcels.

Pricing:

Non-standard shipments are charged individually, considering their actual weight and volume, at a rate of €3.5 – €4.5 / kg.

Warning: the transport of alcohol, tobacco, and medicines in parcels is strictly prohibited!

The stated pricing conditions take effect from: April 20, 2026
